Little House in Stow

House Collage Three Years with Dates by midgefrazel

Our First Three Years

It still amazes me that we have lived here since September 2, 2010. We feel the move, as exhausting as it was, was the right thing for us to do. I have been trying to take some photos (without snow) because this will be the house that our grandsons think of as the "Grandparents House".

Our oldest grandson was already born and visited us at the house in Bridgewater where we lived from December 10, 1973 to Sept. 2, 2010 but he was too little to remember it at all. As it is with houses, the new owners have made changes that I have not yet seen. I try to look forward not backwards to our future life.

This winter, I am going to write about the neighborhood that I grew up in and how technology has helped me remember it. Where you grew up has a special place in your heart no matter how briefly you may have lived there or how much you remember.

Part of my "growing up experience" includes my grandparents house and their beach house.  Those photos and those memories are what inspires me to take everyday photos of where we live now so the grandsons will remember our home as I do my ancestral locations.

All the places that I have lived still stand. That counts the college dorms, the apartments and many relatives homes. It gives me a stability that many people don't have. I am lucky.

So, here completes year three of our great move to Stow. I hope Year Four brings us good health, good family memories and a calmer lifestyle. Thanks for reading along with me! Did you notice we moved the flag?

I love the how the darker paint and the shutters provide a definition to the appearance of your home. It is a great improvement!

"Where you grew up has a special place in your heart no matter how briefly you may have lived there or how much you remember." True story. I was fortunate to visit my hometown last month. Both the houses I lived in are gone, but visiting their sites as well as my friends' homes and seeing how the town has changed, yet remains the same, was a very moving experience! I look forward to your posts about your childhood home.

The house has green siding. I think it looks darker because of the light. They offered us shutters. Not everyone has them.

I will write about my neighborhood in February.

Midge: Your new home looked VERY familiar to me for some reason. Check out my Saturday Serendipity post this coming Saturday to see why. ;-)

Our house is a condo and is about 4 years old and we bought it 3 years ago. We lived in Bridgewater for 37 years before that.

The house style is Oxford. 3 bedrooms 2 1/2 baths. Looking forward to your post.
