Rev. Erastus DENISON, son of Frederick DENISON and his wife Hannah FISH and brother to Charles H. and Frederick, Jr [buried nearby,] was born 22 Dec 1791 and died of cancer 20 Sept 1866. He was a Baptist minister.

He served as minister in the Third Stonington Baptist Church from 1862-1865 ministering to a black congregation.

He married Prudence SPICER, of Groton, daughter of John5 SPICER (Edward4, John3, Edward2, Peter1) and his wife Elizabeth LATHAM, in Groton on 25 June 1815. They were married by John G. Wightman, Elder.

Prudence was born 1 May 1795 in Groton/Ledyard and died 21 May 1864. She and Rev. Erastus had nine children, all died unnamed in infancy.
