Carlton Myles Fisk [my husband's Uncle]
SWANSEA — Carlton Myles Fisk, 100, of Swansea passed away on Monday December 8, 2008 at Somerset Ridge Center. He was the husband of sixty years to the late Edna (Craig) Fisk. Carlton was born in Swansea the son of the late Fred G. and Lizzy (Cady) Fisk. He worked for the Berkshire Hathaway Company for many years as a clerk. Carlton concluded his employment working for the Durfee family as he managed their property in downtown Fall River, including the historic Durfee Theater. Throughout their lives Carlton and Edna went on many extensive camping trips that he recalled with great fondness. He reminisced particularly about their extensive trip throughout the western part of the country that they enjoyed shortly after their retirement. Driving until he was ninety eight, Carlton would travel, the length of the Cape every summer after Edna’s death and visit the spots that were most memorable to this very special couple. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Warren Rhode Island. He had lived independently in the family home that he and his father built fifty six years ago until this past month. He could be seen most days taking care of his property, riding his tractor around a few acres of Fisk real estate. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and his good neighbors the Smith and Ferreira families of Swansea. He was the brother of the late Mary Abbe Willhette, Ruth Elizabeth Duckworth, Dorothy Arnold Gardiner, and Helen Cady Simmons. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 am in the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery Swansea.
