This is the title page of the Genealogical Register by John FARMER. It is available as a downloadable PDF at Google Books for free. If you have New England ancestry, you need to look over this important first genealogical work.

James Savage based his Genealogical Dictionary of New England on Farmer's book, expanding it to four volumes. John Osborne Austin, compiled a Genealogical Dictionary of Rhode Island in 1887.

Because I have many lines that are strictly New England, I purchased Savage and Austin on CD some years ago. Some of the entries in these works indicate where people were (first) buried. Of course, that doesn't mean their graves are marked but it may be the reason that a memorial marker has been placed in a particular spot.
