Charles Ethel STEWART
The most annoying part of this gravestone to research is that Charles Ethel STEWART has nearly the same name as my great grandfather, Charles Edward STEWART. I have seem online trees with these two men in the wrong place.
What stunned me this time, is the note I found on a family tree from family in North Stonington, that this man, Charles Ethel Stewart was an attorney!
He was only 21 when he died. They mention that his goal was to freely spend his inheritance from his father's estate.
Charles Ethel Stewart's maternal grandfather was Ethel Palmer (1740-1798). Because of his unusual name, the 1790 census was a "hint" in my tree at Ancestry.com.

There's a big difference between my photo of the gravestone and the one that had been dug up and restored today. It is also a great example of what the part of the stone that has been underground looks like. Fortunately, the part that was covered by the ground was not inscribed. Charles Ethel Stewart died on 28 Nov 1867 so by calculation, he was born in Aprl of 1846.
I have found him in the 1850 and 1860 census with his parents and then he dies. He must have been smart to already be done with his education.
