Tombstone Tuesday: Mrs. Martha Smith

Tombstone Tuesday; Martha, wife of Rev. Aaron SMITH
Mrs. Martha SMITH, wife of Rev. Mr. Aaron SMITH, is buried in the Old Common Cemetery in Marlborough, MA. Her husband is not buried with her, but I did take a photo of his gravestone which is in the North Cemetery in Wayland, MA

This slate gravestone features the rosettes that are found in many cemeteries in New England. I bought a cemetery pin that is almost identical to the motif of this gravestone.

I am making this "slide" into a graphic so I can get feedback from my readers about including this as a "style" in future presentations. Suggestions are welcome.

I love this stone. It reminds me of the KING stones in Bridge Street Cemetery in Northampton, MA.

I have many Newton & Brigham ancestors in Marlborough, Northborough,Southborough, and Paxton. I have never made it made it there (though I lived in Western MA for 25 years). Would love to get photographs, but I think Find A Grave will probably be my best bet. Only info I have is from the series MA Vital Records before 1850. I would probably have to write to, or visit the City Clerk to see the original books to determine which cemetery.
