Smell the Salt Air?
Beyond the Tourist Attraction

The Mystic Seaport has an amazing online presence beyond the information about visiting the seaport itself.

In the past few years, I have been watching the collections put online grow by leaps and bounds.

If you have seafaring ancestors in the New England area, the research information is worth a look. (Charles W. Morgan Ship)

The Museum Collection has a finding guide located on this page

Sometime in the 1960's or so, The Charles W. Morgan was refurbished. My grandfather gave me some of the old original nails that had been removed from the ship. I believed he received them from a friend in Noank that was somehow connected to the refitters.
