Spring!

Sometimes, you just have to admire the wonderful carvings on larger monuments. I wonder how they chose this elegant design?

Thanks to Brian Zoldak for taking such a clear and perfect photo of this granite monument and its base in the Raymond Hill Cemetery  in Oakdale (Montville), Connecticut and for sharing it with me. Taken in July, 2012

You can today the first day of spring, I call it opening day of cemetery season. I am hoping for an excellent spring and summer in the graveyard, aren't you?

Yes! I'd love to get out and walk cemeteries again. If only the snow would melt.

It might be opening day where you are, but it will be several weeks before I dare go into a cemetery here in New Hampshire. Too much snow and icy paths.

I have a cemetery nearby that still had too much snow for me to check a stone for a date and to take some group shots. It is near a Target and I am hoping I get there soon on a Sunday.
