This is an ornate gravestone for an un-named infant daughter and when I went looking for information about this family, I did not find this 12 day old baby listed with the family of Jacob Gallup and his wife Parthenia Morgan in the latest Gallup genealogy (2009), on page 333. Jacob and his wife were married on 24 May 1812.
This baby was the first born child and they quickly had another daughter on 27 Sept 1815. I always think it is sad to see an unnamed infant but as children were named for people in a previous generation, they may have felt that the name reserved for this child could be better used for the next baby.
