This small gravestone is for Horace Champlin who was born in 1832 and died on 30 Mar 1839. He was the son of John Aldrich CHAMPLIN and his first wife Lucy Anna GREENE.
Because he died at the age of seven, Lucy probably wanted to name another baby after him as was the custom. Because she was 49 at her last pregnancy, she may have died giving birth or shortly afterwards.
This common naming situation can cause much confusion when working on a family tree project.
