Tombstone Tuesday: Newton

Newton by midgefrazel
Newton, a photo by midgefrazel on Flickr.
I took this photo of a Newton monument to remind me to pull out the folder of my hubby's Newton family to work on. Have I done it yet? No time like the present, I say. After all, that's what Tombstone Tuesday is for....

Southborough...is it Southborough, MA? We had Newtons in Paxton, Worcester County, MA; Marlborough, Middlesex County, MA; Leicester, Worcester County, MA; and some I have not located yet. If so, it is very possible. My line goes back to the immigrant Richard Newton of Bures St. Mary's Church, Essex, England; his father was Robert Newton of Woolthorpe, Essex, England.

Debra I have sent you an email but I wanted to write here that yes, this is Southborough, Worcester, MA. Southborough was taken from Marlborough in 1727 and it is likely that your Newton family lived in this part of "Marlborough", especially in the later years.

I sent you an email to the address under your signature. I am looking forward to working with you and finding our actual Newton connection on your husband's side!
