In the Blood

For the past two weeks I have been enjoying Steve Robinson's In the Blood. It is a genealogical crime novel in ebook format.

I recommend it to my genealogical friends for a great read on your electronic devices. I purchased it from Amazon.com's Kindle section for the astounding price of $1.25. As I have the reader on my iPhone and on my iPad, I could read this book anywhere I had a spare moment. You will be lucky if you can put it down to do any of your own research. Don't blame me if you love it.

It features the adventure of an American genealogist who travels to England seeking information on a family that left America to by loyal to the King. He needs to find out what happened to that family. What he find is murder, deceit and romance. (By the way, there are two characters in the book who are genealogists. One bears one of my English family surnames of Schofield.)

I found this gem through Twitter. Steve and I exchanged a few tweets and I am happy to say he's a great guy. I hope that he continues to write more genealogical based mysteries in the future. He needs a publisher to make that happen. Steve was born in Kent where one of my ancestors (Henry Cobb) lived  before coming to America. Doesn't that make us almost related?

Learn more about this book at Steve's Web site.
