Wishing I could Remember

With Eleanor by midgefrazel
With Eleanor, a photo by midgefrazel on Flickr.

My friend Eleanor
Today, I am wishing that I could remember teenage Eleanor's last name, who babysat for me when I was small. She was only 17 but looked much older because she was so tall!

This photo is dated August 1949 so I am not yet two. I called her "Eye-Eye".

Taken at Bonnet Shores Beach.

Have you checked the 1940 census for your neighborhood to see if you can find her? Just a thought. :-)

As my neighborhood didn't exist in 1940 (built post 1945) and that she lived in the adjacent point of land on a section of street that doesn't exist anymore,it might not be possible.

I have searched the city directories for the areas around my street but I can't remember he last name.

I might try the large streets in 1940 and get lucky.

How about a local 1940'ish high school yearbook, Midge - you might find her there? Wouldn't that be great to find her! Lovely photo.
