My friend's son got married yesterday! Being witness to a life event always gives a genealogist pause to reflect on the importance of what we do. I enjoyed watching the grandparents of this young man dance and talk to everyone at the reception. Married 65 years they are his remaining grandparents as his paternal grandparents are gone. His paternal grandmother, recently deceased, was a topic of conversation with his maternal grandmother and myself. We all know they were there in spirit. The woman who married them talked about ancestors.
So on a lovely June day, they were married. It doesn't get better than this. Friends and family marking a life's journey with joy.

Of course, you were not just "his mother's friend", but also a good friend to Rockwell as you have shared his other life events (trips to Disney, graduation, etc.) He so appreciated having you there!
