William S. NOYES and wife Louisa LAMB

William S. NOYES, son of Avery NOYES and his wife Polly SLACK and brother to Avery D. NOYES was born 2 Jan 1811 and died 6 Oct, 1890. He married Louisa LAMB 16 November 1836. [I am unable to find out who Louisa LAMB's parents were or her actual date of birth at this time.]

Louisa died 11 Dec 1871 aged 61 years so she was born abt 1810.

"Her children arise and call her blessed." [Proverbs 31:28]

Louisa and William's gravestone are joined together on a large granite base. They were the parents of children born in Norwich, CT (LDS records) Maria L. born abt 1841, George W. born abt. 1845 and Mary E. born abt. 1846.

There is an unrecorded child William Avery NOYES whose gravestone clearly states he was the son of William and Louisa. I am unable to find a matching vital record for this toddler who died when he was two.

The Census gives us more information about this couple. William's occupation was painter and his unmarried daughter Mary lived with him after Louisa died in 1871.
