Charles Denison HOXIE, was a son of Benjamin Franklin HOXIE and Harriet Elizabeth CLIFT. He was born 17 Nov 1853 in Stonington, New London, CT and died 13 Feb 1924 probably in Brooklyn, Kings, New York as that is where he was living in the 1920 census.
He was married 17 Jan 1882 to Rosa A. POST. This marriage is recorded in the Denison genealogy on p. 458. and is confirmed by the year 1882 in the 1900 census. It states that he was in the furniture business. The 1900 census states his occupation as in the manufacturing business.
In what military service Charles served, I can't seem to find it nor is he listed in the 1880 census. He was single then, but he's not living with his parents. This certainly means more research for this gravestone!
