The 1900 census MAY have Charles and Marguerite listed twice. Once on the 6th of June and the next on the 11th of June once in Stonington and the next in Boston. It is possible that they moved to Boston that week.
The one in Stonington was enumerated by his own brother, John Holdridge HOXIE, Jr. so it holds more credibility in evidence. A side by side comparison study is the next step in the process. It is enough to make a genealogist go mad.
Charles H. HOXIE died 29 Jan 1928 at the age of 56.
Thanks to my fellow researcher, Charles and Marguerite had a daughter who is also buried here. I wondered who she was! With so many people named Hoxie and the inconsistency of women having their maiden names on the gravestones, it is hard to be positive who is a daughter/granddaughter of family members.

Charles and Margaurite DID have a daughter. Her name was Elizabeth F. Hoxie, and she also has a stone at Elm Grove. Born 9 Nov 1900 and died 16 Dec 1986, it seems that she never married or had children. After her father's death, she and her mother took at least 2 cruises together (to France & Bermuda).
