1st great grand uncle of my husband, this is the Civil War era headstone of Camillus Cheever HYDE.
Born 12 Dec 1846 in Southborough, MA. he was 18 years old when he enlisted on 9 Aug 1864.
Enlisted in Company E, Massachusetts 4th Heavy Artillery Regiment on 12 Aug 1864. Mustered out on 17 Jun 1865 at Washington, DC.
