Ebenezer A. Denison and Esther Gallup

This stone remained a mystery until we used a mirror to see the letters and numbers more clearly. Ihave posted this shot here however because the surname for the married couple is craved at the base of the stone.

Above that is the clasped hands "handshake" of two hands. Notice the sleeves. One sleeve is masculine and the other feminine which means holy matrimony. (Carmack: 216)

So before we even try to find out who this is we know the family surname [Denison] and that the two names carved on the "book of life" indicates a couple probably married many years with numerous descendants.

Of course, that doesn't mean we know who they are as yet. See the next post...
