Adventures in Cell Phones

The last time I bought a cell phone, I rummaged around in the attic gathering up all the old, dead phones. No, they do not have gravestones! I set in a row on the kitchen table all four cell phones I have used previously. Then, I took them to be recycled at the wireless provider.

I posted the photo to my Flickr and have been amused at how many people have looked at it. (as of right now, 1, 575 views) This is how HUGE the first one was!

So, today before my old phone went to the graveyard (uh, bag) in the attic, I took this photo for my collection.

The size has not changed much but the phone is thinner and lighter and because it is an "Internet" phone, it is a lot more fun to play with and learn.

I have not done any genealogy today but I have conquered the major aspects of my new Motorola Droid.

Loved the post, Midge. I am envious of your new phone. I hope you'll continue to post your progress learning, again, another advance in technology!! I've been looking at an upgrade to a smartphone, with Droid technology, as well.

Before you intern your phone to the bag in the attic, have you checked into the availability to donate your old cell phone? In our area, the phones are reprogramed to access 911 only and donated to women's shelters.

Love your blog and always look forward to seeing your smiling profile photo on my FB 'news'

I keep one old phone tucked away because if your current phone dies you can have the old one activated until you get a new one.

I think that the recycled phones I took to the provider are serviced to a woman's shelter.
