The magistrate was Archibald Gallup and the groom (William) was Jonathan McCue and the bride (Mercy" was Amy Marie Scott.
The guest speaker was historian Gail White.She told us that it was the custom for the groom to run away after the banns were published and the men who were family and friends of the bride had to go look for him and bring him back for the wedding!
